The HSI once surged by 659 points to an over four-and-a-half year high of 27,786. It eventually concluded the midday up 598 points or 2.2% at 27,725. The HSCEI rose 218 points or 2.4% to 9,463. The HSTECH climbed 100 points or 1.7% to 5,854. The total market turnover for the half-day was HKD196.327 billion. Financial stocks performed positively. HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) and BOC HONG KONG (02388.HK) leaped 2.7% and 2.9%. STANCHART (02888.HK) climbed 2.1%. HKEX (00388.HK) and AIA (01299.HK) ticked up 1.5% and 1.9%. Chinese banks CCB (00939.HK), ICBC (01398.HK), and BANK OF CHINA (03988.HK) rallied 3.1-3.5%. Hong Kong developers SHK PPT (00016.HK) and HENDERSON LAND (00012.HK) surged 3.9% and 3.5%. HANG LUNG PPT (00101.HK) hiked 3.1%. Chinese developers CHINA JINMAO (00817.HK) and GREENTOWN CHINA (03900.HK) rocketed 7.9% and 6.7%. SEAZEN (01030.HK) shot up 4.9%. Property manager CHINA RES MIXC (01209.HK) soared 3.8%. While spot gold busted above the USD5,200 mark, silver futures also ascended 7%. SD GOLD (01787.HK) skyrocketed 7.6%. CHI SILVER GP (00815.HK), ZHAOJIN MINING (01818.HK), and LINGBAO GOLD (03330.HK) grew 4-5.2%. Resource stocks CHINAHONGQIAO (01378.HK) and JIANGXI COPPER (00358.HK) swelled 5.7%-6.3%. CHALCO (02600.HK) also spiked 10.5%. Among tech stocks, TENCENT (00700.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), and NTES-S (09999.HK) gained 2.1-2.4%. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK), BILIBILI-W (09626.HK), and ALI HEALTH (00241.HK) advanced 3.3% and 3.5%. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and BABA-W (09988.HK) added 1.1% and 1.6%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) edged up 0.4%. In addition, TME-SW (01698.HK) and XD INC (02400.HK) mushroomed 4.1% and 7%. AI stock SENSETIME-W (00020.HK) swelled 4.1%. UNISOUND (09678.HK) was also hyped up 33%, while KNOWLEDGE ATLAS (02513.HK) retreated 3.5%. Carmakers BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) and XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) grew 1.6% and 1.4%.
