The HSI once surged by 659 points to an over four-and-a-half year high of 27,786. It eventually concluded the midday up 598 points or 2.2% at 27,725. The HSCEI rose 218 points or 2.4% to 9,463. Property manager CHINA RES MIXC (01209.HK) soared 3.8%. While spot gold busted above the USD5,200 mark, silver futures also ascended 7%. SD GOLD (01787.HK) skyrocketed 7.6%. CHI SILVER GP (00815.HK), ZHAOJIN MINING (01818.HK), and LINGBAO GOLD (03330.HK) grew 4-5.2%. Resource stocks CHINAHONGQIAO (01378.HK) and JIANGXI COPPER (00358.HK) swelled 5.7%-6.3%. CHALCO (02600.HK) also spiked 10.5%. Among tech stocks, TENCENT (00700.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), and NTES-S (09999.HK) gained 2.1-2.4%.
