US President Donald Trump's remarks on the USD spurred an upsurge in precious metal prices, with aluminum prices climbing to a nearly four-year high.

Aluminum prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) added 1.2% to USD3,246.5 per ton, having previously touched USD3,252 per ton.

When recently asked about the waning USD, Trump said that the USD is in good shape, further exacerbating market pessimism towards the USD.

Goldman Sachs said that, due to the strong aluminum prices and the continued bullish sentiment among investors, the average aluminum price for 1H26 was expected to touch USD3,150 per ton, above from the previous forecast of USD2,575 per ton, but still below the current price.
