CHINA UNICOM (00762.HK) announced that Chen Zhongyue had resigned from his position as the Executive Director, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer as well as Nomination Committee member of the Company with effect from yesterday (29th), due to change in work arrangement. Additionally, CHINA MOBILE (00941.HK) received notification from its ultimate controlling shareholder, China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. (Parent Company), that Chen Zhongyue had been appointed as the Chairman of the Parent Company and Yang Jie would no longer be the Chairman of the Parent Company.
