WGC: Gold Purchases of Global Central Banks Slow to 166.5 Tons in 2Q

In the last quarter, global central banks purchased 166.5 tons of gold, a third less QoQ, bringing the first half's purchase volume to its lowest level since 2022, data from the World Gold Council (WGC) showed. It was expected that central bank demand for this year will be approximately 815 tons.
