Despite the current complex global trade situation, China's shipbuilding industry continued to demonstrate strong market resilience and competitiveness, according to CCTV. Data released by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry indicated that China's shipbuilding completion volume/ new order volume/ order backlog in 1-4M25 reached 15.32 million deadweight tons/ 30.69 million deadweight tons,/ around 230 million deadweight tons, accounting for 49.9%/ 67.6%/ 64.3% of the global market share. While the main shipbuilding indicators remained the highest globally, some shipbuilding companies have even revealed that they are holding orders for around 170 vessels, with the majority coming from Europe, and orders are already scheduled through to 2029.
