BABA-W's (09988.HK) (BABA.US) open-source innovative foundation model search engine, ZeroSearch, has outperformed Google (GOOG.US) Search with costs down by 80%, Chinese media reported. ZeroSearch does not require interaction with real search engines. Instead, it leverages the pre-trained knowledge of foundation models to transform into a retrieval module to generate relevant content and dynamically control quality, which are capabilities that traditional search engines do not possess.
