WisdomTree Strategist: CN 'Terrific Ten' Comparable to US 'Magnificent Seven'

Jeff Weniger, strategist at WisdomTree Investments, posted on social media platform X that China's “Terrific Ten” is comparable to the US “Magnificent Seven”. In his post, he said that the US “Magnificent Seven” are giving way to China's “Terrific Ten”. While the share prices of Silicon Valley behemoths have been running rampant in the past few months, Chinese shares have been leapfrogging. The post attached a comparison of the two's trends from December 2023 to the present. China's “Terrific Ten” have spiked 85.8% in aggregate, surpassing the 81.1% upswing of the “Magnificent Seven” during the same period. The chart suggested that China's “Terrific Ten” include BABA-W (09988.HK), TENCENT (00700.HK), MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), BYD COMPANY (01211.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), NTES-S (09999.HK), BIDU-SW (09888.HK), GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) and SMIC (00981.HK). The “Magnificent Seven” in the US include Apple (AAPL.US), Microsoft (MSFT.US), Google's parent company Alphabet (GOOGL.US), Tesla (TSLA.US), Facebook and WhatsApp's parent company Meta (META.US), Nvidia (NVDA.US) and Amazon (AMZN.US).
