The People's Bank of China maintained the five-year and one-year LPR unchanged. The HSI opened 55 points or 0.3% lower at 19,697. The HSCEI opened 17 points or 0.2% lower at 7,134. The HSTECH opened 6 points or 0.2% lower at 4,432.

Apple is said to be in talks with TENCENT (00700.HK) and ByteDance to integrate AI into iPhones. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) opened slipping 1.7%. Among other tech stocks, BABA-W (09988.HK) opened down 1.4%, while TENCENT (00700.HK), MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) inched down 0.2-0.3%. JD-SW (09618.HK) and NTES-S (09999.HK) dipped 0.8%. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) grew 1.3%. EAST BUY (01797.HK) and SMIC (00981.HK) escalated 4.9% and 2.7%, respectively.

As for car stocks, GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) and BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) sagged 0.5% and 0.6% at open, while XPENG-W (09868.HK) added 1.2%. Car dealer ZHONGSHENG HLDG (00881.HK) spiked 2.2%.
