GAM Investment Management: Tesla's FSD Still Unable to Provide Actual Fully Autonomous Driving

Tesla (TSLA.US)'s full-self-driving (FSD) is not as groundbreaking as the public hoped, as it doesn't actually offer fully autonomous driving, according to Mark Hawtin, investment director at asset management firm GAM Investment Management. News broke out this week that Tesla will begin a mapping and navigation partnership with BIDU-SW (09888.HK), removing a key hurdle for FSD's entry into the Chinese market. However, Hawtin commented that FSD, like its US and UK counterparts, can only offer assisted driving.
