HK Big Techs Shiny Broadly; TENCENT Sets 1-yr+ High; MEITUAN Ebbs 1%

Chinese ADRs executed well overnight, as NASDAQ Golden Dragon China Index shot up more than 6%. HK-listed major techs drifted higher this morning, with the HSTECH last posted at 3,933, up 67 pts or 1.75%. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) has been the best-performing constituent of the HSTECH so far. It last printed at $114.1, up 6.54%. TENCENT (00700.HK) once mounted 3.4% to peak at $372.6, a new high in more than a year, but then the rally subsided to 0.94% to last at $363.8. JD-SW (09618.HK), peaking at $128.7, was last at $125.2, up 3.99%.

MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) opened up 1.26% today and peaked at $122.9. It last stood at $117.5, down 1.34%.

Nascent EV makers were in a mixed bag. XPENG-W (09868.HK) last reported at $36.2, up 6%. LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) last printed at $111.2, up 3.35%. NIO-SW (09866.HK) last charted at $42.8, down 0.81%, after outrunning yesterday.

Apple's iPhone sales shrank in the second quarter, but announced the largest share buyback program on record at US$110 billion. Apple concept stocks looked shiny, including SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK), which gained 2.75% to $41.05.

SENSETIME-W (00020.HK), receding after 8 days of gains, last posted at $1.59, down 4.22%.
